Inventory keys before agreeing the price
List every supplied key, emergency insert and relevant accessory in the sale agreement. Test keys individually with the other keys kept away, following the vehicle's instructions, so one functioning transmitter does not mask a failed spare. Check locking, unlocking and starting or wake-up functions appropriate to the version. Photograph the inventory without exposing security codes in public media. If a spare is missing, obtain a supported replacement quotation before payment. The T2 buying process should treat included keys as a defined delivery item rather than an informal seller promise.
Plan emergency access without improvisation
Request the correct owner information for the exact vehicle and have the seller or qualified technician demonstrate the approved emergency-access procedure safely. Know where the mechanical key and relevant instructions are kept before shipping, when low-voltage problems can complicate normal entry. Do not publish immobiliser bypass methods or experiment with wiring. A worn lock or damaged emergency insert may remain unnoticed during remote unlocking. Compare the key-access result with the 12-volt storage plan, because a battery problem and an access problem can combine into a difficult arrival recovery.
Separate account removal from a screen reset
Ask which connected services are fitted and which accounts currently control them. Where remote access exists, use the manufacturer's supported ownership-transfer process and obtain confirmation that the former owner's access has been removed. Clearing navigation favourites or resetting a display does not necessarily revoke a remote account. Avoid asking the seller to share a permanent personal login. Retain evidence of transfer without storing unnecessary private data. If the manufacturer or distributor cannot support transfer for that VIN, state exactly which functions remain unavailable and whether any unresolved access risk blocks acceptance.
Verify operation in the destination
A service that works with a China-market phone number or data connection before export may not work abroad. Ask the relevant provider or distributor about account eligibility, regional connectivity, subscription terms and support for the identified VIN. Test required local functions independently of remote services so the buyer knows what still works without an app. Do not promise a region conversion, language flash or replacement telematics module without a documented supported route. Review overseas support before relying on a dealer network that may serve only locally distributed vehicles.
Remove personal data with an agreed checklist
After preserving necessary inspection evidence, remove paired phones, saved addresses, garage or access information where applicable and other previous-user data through supported controls. Confirm that the buyer can create a fresh local pairing and that essential settings remain available. Personal-data cleanup should not erase diagnostic evidence needed for an unresolved fault. Let the relevant account owner perform actions that require their credentials, rather than circulating passwords through a sales chat. Keep a short handover record of completed and unavailable functions so later staff do not confuse an intentional reset with a newly developed defect.
Close the gap before the vehicle leaves
For a used vehicle with one key and an unresolved account, price key replacement but do not assume money alone resolves ownership access. Require a clear transfer or supported deauthorisation path before acceptance. New vehicles may also need first activation and market eligibility checks, especially when supplied outside the normal retail channel. Pack the agreed keys securely according to carrier instructions and document custody at each handover. On arrival, repeat basic access and pairing checks before routine use. A complete transfer gives the buyer control without depending indefinitely on a former owner's phone or cooperation.
Apply the checks to a shortlist
Imagine that two keys are supplied but the seller demonstrates both while they remain together on one ring. Request separate tests before signing the inventory. If one key fails, the next step is supported diagnosis and replacement, not a statement that the other key is enough. Treat an unresolved previous-owner account as a separate issue even after both physical keys work correctly.
Buyer checklist
- Each physical key tested independently
- Approved emergency-access instructions
- Previous-owner access removed where fitted
- Destination account eligibility and handover record
Questions and answers
Does resetting the centre screen remove all remote access?
Not necessarily. Follow the supported connected-account transfer process separately from local data cleanup.
Can every imported T2 use the destination Jetour app?
Do not assume so. Eligibility depends on the VIN, original market, hardware and provider policies.
Manufacturer reference
Use the applicable market and year documentation for equipment and operating limits. These model references do not establish the condition, fitted equipment or destination approval of an individual vehicle.
